Five Acres Primary

Learning Together. Growing Together. Thriving Together.

RE

Intent

At Five Acres Primary School, we aim to develop curious, respectful and reflective learners who explore a range of religions and non-religious worldviews. Through Religious Education, pupils deepen their understanding of beliefs, values and traditions while learning to appreciate diversity and engage thoughtfully with different perspectives.

Implementation

We follow the Oxfordshire Agreed Syllabus for RE (2023-2028) through the Jigsaw RE programme. Learning is carefully planned across our mixed-age classes to build knowledge and skills progressively. Through enquiry-based learning, discussion and reflection, pupils explore Christianity alongside other religions and worldviews, developing the skills to question, interpret, analyse and evaluate.

Impact

Children leave Five Acres with a strong understanding of different beliefs and worldviews, alongside the ability to think critically, reflect respectfully and engage positively with others. Through learning together, growing together and thriving together, pupils develop the knowledge, empathy and respect needed to flourish in a diverse and interconnected world.
